Dental implants for natural enjoyment of life
Implant treatment – step by step
Our teeth are an important part of our personality charm, giving us both quality of life and self-confidence. This means we can enjoy our food, speak clearly without any problem and cope with whatever situation life throws at us – but teeth also give us that little bit of extra energy and enjoyment.
This becomes particularly clear if we are missing one or more teeth or if a conventional bridge or set of dentures causes a problem.

Implant treatment – step by step
After careful assessment and treatment planning the implant can be inserted into the jaw at the dental clinic under local anaesthesia. It normally takes no longer than 30 minutes to insert a single implant. In most cases the patient can resume normal activities the next day.
During the next period of time the implant is left to heal and integrate with the living bone tissue, creating a long-lasting and stable base for the new tooth. The duration of the healing phase depends on the medical circumstances but is on average 3 months. During the healing phase there is generally no pain or difficulties. Regular and thorough oral hygiene is crucial to a successful treatment.
During the healing phase the gap can be filled with a neat temporary tooth replacement until the permanent crown or bridge can be put in place.

Toothlessness – just a memory
The method for tooth replacement using titanium implants was developed over 50 years ago by Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark. It has brought improved comfort and increased self-confidence to hundreds of thousands of people.

Healthy teeth cannot be taken for granted
Life affects us and also our teeth. Medication and diseases, especially of the teeth and gums, as well as accidents, can lead to loss of teeth. Having teeth missing is not just an aesthetic issue; it also has functional implications, restricting us in a number of ways. A bridge or dentures can of course be one solution, but in the long term this approach is often associated with problem.

Dental implants – for natural enjoyment of life
For over 50 years it has been possible to completely replace teeth with dental implants. Dental implants replace individual or multiple lost teeth. The implant replaces the tooth root and provides an anchor for the visible part of the tooth. Even if you lose all your teeth it is perfectly possible to eat properly again and to be able to talk and laugh without difficulty.

What is an implant?
A dental implant is an artificial dental root. It is made from titanium, a biocompatible material that the body will accept. The implant is inserted directly into the jawbone under local anaesthesia, then left to heal and integrate with the living bone tissue and become an integrated part of the jawbone. After that on top of the implant is placed either a crown, bridge or denture supposed to remain functional for the rest of the life.

Advantages of dental implants
Unlike conventional bridges it is not necessary to grind down the neighbouring teeth to be able to replace the tooth or teeth that are missing. Healthy teeth can be left intact. From an aesthetic and functional viewpoint, teeth anchored in implants are without a doubt the most natural solution. In terms of appearance and function, they are indistinguishable from real teeth. You can chew with the same force as with natural teeth. As with natural tooth roots, the important chewing force is distributed evenly over the bone, which means there is less risk of the jawbone regressing.
